A historic canal basin in Coventry, West Midlands, England, featuring a restored 18th-century canal network, picturesque surroundings, and a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants.
Really nice place to visit. Little bits of history and information placed around the area. We had a lovely breakfast in the far cafe right on the water. It was lovely to stand watching a couple of canal boats come and go. Take a walk over the bridge and take a look at the back end of the warehouses.
Great Central location. We had a canal boat, a great option, and possibly a better deal than a hotel. We could walk Coventry, return for dinner, shop for food, have breakfast at the canal basin. Eat Pastel de Nata and coffee at the local Portuguese cafe. We took a bus to Nuneaton. It was all a blast, especially as we found a great Wethspoons in the centre of Coventry.
So peaceful in the morning, you wouldn't believe you were near the ring road with lots of early morning traffic. One of many places to visit in Coventry. It's free to visit and have a look around
A beautiful place to have a drink and relax, also a great walk or cycle along the canal footpath, it's amazing the contrast between the canal and the city around.
As a "tourist attraction" I would have expected the bins to have been emptied at least one a week. The area is a tip, full of rubbish blowing around and polluting the canal. It's a hotbed of drunken layabouts and drug smoking potheads. Great access from the canal to the city center but not somewhere you'd want to stay for a long time.
Weather was really nice so it made a very pleasant visit,,

Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
