Lovely circular walk although the mesh on the boardwalk is very noisy (I know it's necessary to stop the boardwalk becoming slippery). We saw ringed plover, lapwings, teal, fox cub, adult fox,roe deer, emperor dragon fly, damsel flies and a multitude of other insects. There was also a large number of warblers singing and a number of cuckoo's calling the day we were there. The entry to the site is very industrial from the remnants of the peat extraction that happened on the site. New post. Since my last post my wife and I have visited the site several more times. On the recent occasions we have visited we have seen a goshawk perched on the boardwalk, also a male hen harrier hunting across the moss and several hooper swans on one of the ponds.
