Definitely worth a visit if you're either in the area or exploring Bridgend. Great views over the town. A bit of a trek if one's walking up Newcastle Hill, but plenty of benches to rest up. Take a picnic? Peaceful & safe for children. Lovely church nearby. Opens day times only.

Striking remains of a medieval castle situated on a hill overlooking Bridgend town centre. The castle now comprises of the walls, remains of one tower and the famous Norman doorway. Its free to visit and there is a small car park next to the church. Visiting the three Bridgend castle's makes a great day out.

Finally found this castle. Really enjoyed wandering around it. Isn't that big but well worth a visit.

Another free castle ruin, not much left, just the outer wall remains, great for kids to run around as you can keep an eye on them, entrance gate is up 'The Square' street, and just in front of you. Nice little church opposite.

Postcode does not take you to the entrance. Bit of a guess on how to get here. No parking, used someone's drive way. Castle has great views of the town and rugby club. Lots of dog-walkers when we visited. Would recommend for the views.

Beautiful place with a lot of history. My children loved to run around on the grass lovely and clean also right next to a church shown in the photos and also nice old fashioned cottage houses. Definitely recommend this old medieval castle
