Part of the english heritage sited. Over 200 years of history, now only the gate remains as rhe city walls were demolished. Beautiful gate but very easy to miss and not well maintained

King James's gate originally located in Broad Street adjacent to the area now known as Hotwalls. Its original location is marked by steps leading from ground level to a square platform on the original City Wall.

It's just a gate, but it is quite impressive. This road is useful for parking if you don't fancy gunwharf car park - it's only a short walk to the shops. Interesting history to the gate worth looking up, if you're into random historical details.

Don't get a shock if you see just a gate on the main road. But it's still a English heritage site.
