Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. The atmosphere is one of tranquility and serenity. I sat for 45 minutes just gazing at the colours, structure and enjoying my peaceful time. The world outside didn't exist. I am a Christian but believe even if someone was not they could enjoy the ambience and architecture. I definitely will return if I'm in Wakefield again. We didn't buy tickets into the cathedral. Didn't know you needed to

A lovely Anglican Cathedral. Look out for their weekly lunchtime recitals on Tuesdays. Very welcoming staff and volunteers, some beautiful stained glass and art on the walls. A recommended visit.

This is a such a beautiful building with and amazing atmosphere. They have different events on throughout the year and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. They have a lovely little cafe, where the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Its perfect to sit and contemplate or say a prayer and you can also light a candle and ask for a prayer to be said in service which is so thoughtful. I have been going as a kid and it's is so amazing at Christmas time.

What an absolute stunning interior from the Rood Screen, to the ceilings, extensive stained glass and the tombs and monuments inside. I visited at around 8.20am, was surprised to see it open opening time was 8am and for people.lile me who want to marvel at the interior going that early is worth it a I had the Cathedral to my self. They also had a selection of guide books for sale which help to support the Cathedral.
