Lovely walks and plenty of wildlife to see and enjoy the peace of the country side. Good footpath and well maintained.

Found it very hard to find detailed information about which parts of the canal route can be cycled or not. Found section heading north between Barnoldswick and Gargrave to be very difficult. Starts off great but after a couple of miles becomes a very narrow single track, and very muddy and rocky in places. Far more suited to walking than cycling. If you want to cycle you need pretty chunky tyres.

Did the Gargrave to Skipton rail /canal trail. Easy, flat quiet 8km route. Unfortunately no benches to stop at or pubs / cafes along the way. Scenery lovely... but not the most interesting of walks.

Locks are quite stiff and leaky, but functional.
