Discover a collection of over 200 trees with some even dating back to the early 1900s. The collection has been added to over the years and now contains species found from around the globe. The arboretum can be explored along surfaced and unsurfaced paths, most of which are flat. The unsurfaced paths can get muddy if it has rained. A superb location for a short stroll or take a longer walk through the forest to the charming Speech House Lake. Plenty of seating around the arboretum to take the weight off and enjoy the surroundings. Many trees are labelled and are interesting to study. A great place to visit for an afternoon outing.
Absolutely beautiful arboretum and walks to Speech House Lake, fanatic roads, well marked, stunning woods and so peaceful at the lake. Free car parking too Dog friendly
Really peaceful place , time to reflect by yourself or like me to share the experience with a loved one. One star missing because of the dog pooh left by numerous individuals and in one case bagged up in a plastic bag and left on the track, why do people do this....
Lovely! Nice variety of tree (as you'd hope), free parking, dogs running maniacally after elusive squirrels, good paths all round the place, proper gates - a lovely welcome to the forest walks surrounding. (Also nearby is a lovely looking lake)
Beautiful walk with an enclosed area for dogs to be let off their leads.
We visit here regularly to exercise our dogs in the enclosed and gated area. Two good car parks make access easy and also gives you direct access to forest trails for longer walks.
