Lovely place to go with family for a walk or day out to the go ape park. Lots of different walks to go on, the butterfly trail is good for people with disabilities, or children, I often take my clients there and they always seem to enjoy it. Good facilities, toilets, lovely cafe to get some food and drinks, have to pay for parking, lots of parking spaces available.

Haldon forest is a lovely, multi-activity location. There are various grades of cycle courses and paths. Some are mixed use with walkers, others are dedicated to bikes only. There is a 'Go Ape!' located here too. A nice cafe and ice cream hut with a play area next to it in a sand pit for small children. There is a wooden play area next to Go Ape. On one of the shorter routes, there is a Gruffalo trail to follow. There are picnic areas along the way and various benches, interestingly constructed which are being trialled to accommodate various users. I found the parking expensive and a deterrent for using this as a regular stop off on my way to Exeter, which is a shame.

Haldon is accessible by car and by bike (you can walk if you're up to it). Haldon forest is open all year round. Haldon Forest is a bike friendly area with purpose built bike trails, skills area and a pump track. All trails are signposted and tell you what's allowed on them and the difficulty such as blue red and black, blue being the easiest, black being the hardest, there are two blues one easier than the other 1 red and a short black that comes off the end of red. Recently Haldon forest has redone the beginning of the Red bike trail to avoid crossing the green walking trail which is a lot safer, this new beginning of red offers berms, double rollers and table tops, all are rollable or if you fancy you can also use them as jumps.

Great place for the whole family, spend a few hours here for great time, come on a sunny day as tree shade and height above sea level makes cooler by 3/4c from Exeter centre. Great mountain bike trails but beware families on red trail stop or go slow can spoil your ride if your like me and racing against the clock

Me and my eldest son enjoyed a cycle ride on the different trails available (Green and blue) Green being the easiest and blue being a bit more of a challenge. Really child friendly and great for cycling practice in a safe area. Also the cafe on the site, does a yummy cooked breakfast :)

We were staying on Caravan and Motorhome site at Exeter racecourse. Haldon Forest Park was a short bike ride from site. There is a large car park and cafe on the Haldon Forest Park. The park has many good quality surface tracks for cycling walking and running. The tracks cover all abilities and are clearly waymarked.(see photo)
