Amazing place! I never spent more than an hour in a museum, but this was so engaging. Instead overloading with information they make you feel that experience by touching the items, wearing clothes, taking pictures and background sounds. Highly recommended! Also there's no entry ticket, just donate if you like.

Amazing visit to the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery! The exhibits covered a fascinating range of history, from early settlers and farming to the Roman invasion, Vikings, and medieval wars. Highly recommend for history enthusiasts!

Lovely museum depicting the history of Peterborough, going as far back as the Jurassic period when Peterborough was under water. Collections amassed over a 130 year period. The collections are separated and spread over a number of floors and it sections is wonderfully set out with artefacts and information boards, with many interactive items and even clothing for the kids to try on. It also holds a shop and a cafe, an art gallery showing historical photos and paintings and temporary exhibitions too. And what makes this a great place to visit also is that entry is free.

Stunning place full of history! Dive into the past as soon as you walk through the entrance, with a cafe room aswell I mean come on what an extra bonus! I have been here many times, probably too many they have vault tours, go underground and succumb to the history that awaits your arrival, they do peterborough ghost walks, they are fantastic! Or you could just simply go in for the day and take a look around the whole place and learn how peterborough has grown from what it used to be for many centuries to now, fascinating right? Yes! If your a paranormal crazy person like me then this is the place for you! Plenty of stories and history on that subject to hear and possibly who knows? We LOVED the museum and art gallery, I personally wanted to come to see the current exhibitions and I can honestly say I was really happy with what we saw, the art is amazing and the museum is also great!! My favourite part of the museum is of course the one all about fishes and sea creatures.
