Lovely views from the top of the woods. Fantastic stone track, the side tracks have exposed roots like you would expect but you are warned of this if looking at the routes online. The paths have wooden posts dotted along them to show where to go, the fern is quite high at the moment, due to the time of year, around some of the post but still easy to see and find your way around. What must have taken a lot of effort to start really does make all the difference when walking round. Woods is extremely dog friendly, you are asked to pick up any poo, which you expect and most would do, but I have seen a fair few walkers not picking it up. Car parks are always tidy and plenty of picnic bences to enjoy a bite to eat. There are plenty of benches dotted round the trails and online some advise exactly how many is on the route. Both Cooper and I love this woods and always enjoy our walks up there. Thank you to the forestry team for such a good job

I am biased because I play for Astons Cricket Club, but I think this is a great ground. There's a zip line swing thing, a playground, and some goalposts if you want to play football. The pavilion isn't open to the general public but it can be hired for events and if you come down on a summer Sunday there's a good chance you'll see some village cricket being played!

BBOWT managed historic / operational water pumping Station. Surrounding land SSSI managed for nature conservation.

A beautiful place but not at all wheelchair friendly or for those unsteady on their feet! Nor suitable for children under about 7. Not much parking. NONE of the above is criticism: it is as it should be to preserve all these rare flora and fauna. We were fortunate to see slowworms and a roman snail as well as the orchids and other plant species.

Awesome place and a cheap day out. Amazing sculptures, most of which bear a deeper meaning, take time to read and understand the underlying messages. The shop is well stocked with goodies for around the home and garden at good prices too. They do not allow picnics, and thus offer exceptionally well priced and excellent quality food and drinks. We will definitely be going back.

Lovely stretch of canal with Hartley Arms pub on side. Nice walk along towpath, great autumn colours.
