We're really lucky to have this nice 'green' area, when all others are being swallowed up by housing estates. Nice big fields for kids & dogs to run around on & since they've done up the kids playground with colourful running ideas etc etc, it's a nice place for the kids to go, near the play park too. Also with the added bonus of picnic benches, for when the weather is warmer. The memorial itself is well looked after and a credit to the town. Long may it survive in all its green glory. Infact, no matter the time of year, it's a nice outdoor, fresh air place.
Dainty little station, no longer used but with some history to read about on boards. Tucked out of the way and away from main roads, this little gem can be a great place to have a picnic or walk along weavers way.
Really lovely area, perfect for dog walking. Plenty of woodlands to walk through as well as open fields, spotted a deer also. There's a disused canal you can walk along which is really lovely. Very quiet area, decent sized car park (quite uneven though!) really enjoyed our visit here.
Visited with our two doggies, lovely little museum run by obvious enthusiasts. Everything is a little crammed in but so many beautiful bikes (and a Sinclair C5!) in various states of repair! restoration. Well worth a visit if you are into motorbikes or vintage machinery of any sort.
Wonderful quiet and shady walk
We visited the North Walsham & Dilham Canal via the 3 1/2 mile circular walk starting from the small car park on Chapel Road at East Ruston. We picked up the Weavers Way and walked via the old railway line to Dilham Lock where we picked up the canal line. We followed the canal pleasantly through the trees and fields to the lovely restored/rebuilt Tonnage Bridge and back through the field to the car park. Thoroughly enjoyable walk and great to see the disused canal in water. Highly recommended circular walk through open countryside alongside a beautiful waterway.
