Great place for people who are interested in the history of maritime in Aberdeen. There are a fair display of ships and their history. It is really interesting to see the evolution of ships from the past to present. The key highlight for me was the dimensions of the oil rig. I was always curious how big it was, and am extremely amazed at how gigantic it was! Best part of it all, the entrance is free! So do not hesitate to come down to quench your curiosity about Maritime in Aberdeen!

It was a great fun, lots of models. Exhibitions are very interesting with detailed descriptions. Entry is free you can donate as much as you like or buy something in gift shop to support museum. Only downside is there is no cafe but there is plenty all around in Aberdeen. Would recommend to stop and have a look. It gives lots of background of Aberdeen.

Lovely museum, not very big but has a lot to show. There are areas where visitors can watch different educational videos. The museum is free, but they are open for money donations. I would say we spent there at most an hour.

Aberdeen maritime museum is located at shiprow, Aberdeen. It's about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the bus and train terminal. No advance booking is required to visit the museum, and admission is also free. The Aberdeen maritime museum has several floors with historic and modern collections about the rich maritime heritage of Aberdeen. With its proximity to the harbour and visuals of several ships just opposite the museum, the building is situated in a strategic place. Your journey of discovery begins here, covering everything from the early days of trade, fishing, and shipbuilding to oil and gas exploration and renewable energy. There is no space for parking, but the building is accessible for wheelchair users. Pictures of various ship prototypes are on display at the museum as it is estimated that about 3,000 ships were built between 1790 and 1989. This is a wonderful place to visit. The members of staff are friendly and welcoming.

For a free museum it was surpisingly well laid out with exhibits and displays. I spent 90 minutes looking around before heading to catch the ferry to Lerwick. You could spend a lot longer if you read every information board or watched the short films that are playing. Certainly worth a visit if you are visiting Aberdeen.

Entrance is free and there's parking at NCP 1 minute walk away. Really interesting and fun museum with lots of miniature models of shops and educational videos throughout this multi-story museum. Also provides a new view of the Aberdeen harbor. Running through the museum takes 40 mins to 1 hour 30mins depending on how detailed you want to be
