Ness Country Park is not merely a place; it is an experience, a symphony of nature's elements orchestrated into a masterpiece. The moment you step inside, once enveloped in a verdant embrace, a world away from the cacophony of modern life. The park is a treasure trove of hidden gems, but none shines brighter than its waterfall. It's as if the sky, tired of holding its tears, decided to let them loose in a cascade of crystalline beauty. The water, in its ceaseless descent, creates a rhythmic ballet, a hypnotic lullaby for the soul. The surrounding greenery, a lush tapestry of emerald and gold, provides the perfect backdrop for this natural spectacle. Beyond the waterfall, Ness Country Park offers a plethora of activities for the nature enthusiast. The walking trails are more than just paths; they are avenues for introspection, where the crunch of leaves underfoot becomes a meditative rhythm. For those seeking adventure, the park offers opportunities for cycling and exploring the local wildlife. But it's the tranquility that truly sets Ness Country Park apart. It is a place where time seems to slow down, where the only urgency is to soak in the beauty that surrounds you. It's a sanctuary for the weary soul, a canvas for the imagination.

Loved it! Great little hike, with the waterfall at the end, fantastic playground. Free parking and free information with maps. Toilet facilities which were clean.

Ness Country Park is a lovely must see Nature Reserve with a fully circle walking path and 2 main entrances. It's free to enter and takes around 45 minutes to leisurely walk the main circumference of the park. In the middle there's quite a large and beautiful waterfall with 2 bridges going over the main river and the top of the waterfall. There are 2 quite steep areas to climb and descend which can't be avoided to good footwear essential. Lastly there is amble areas to sit and picnic tables located near the entrances.

Went a dander here while on a get away trip in Donemana, amazing wee place to see. Great facilities on site with an up to date and well kept play park as well as all the pays and stairs well looked after. Water fall is something to see for sure and has lovely piece of information dotted around the park.

Great walks, you can tell they've spent a bit of money on doing this up, and making it accessible for all ages. In saying that, there are a lot of steps at one point, but they are manageable if you take your time. Fantastic unspoilt natural beauty not far from the city

Warning... Carpark Gates are locked at 4pm. Ness Woods got a new entrance and car park a few years ago and its joins the Every wood and Ness woods together. Every wood carpark is now also called Ness woods.(gate locked at 4pm) This wood although now all one wood is still very different at each section. If you are less able bodied, got young children, prams, wheelchairs then use the new entrance where you can drive down to the valley bottom to a new carpark, electric car charge point, toilets including disabled toilets, children's playback and wide smooth circulars path with a small pond, stream and river near by. It also has a small visitor centre. (Gate locked at 4pm but smaller carpark beside it that not locked) The older Ness wood carpark does not have a gate to lock and is very close to two large waterfalls but the path is very steep down to the river at the bottom of the valley. Not for the unfit. The waterfall sign points to the 2nd waterfall but the first waterfall is only 3 minutes walk if you follow the path to the left instead. Several years ago they build a board walk at one side if the river but the land started to slide and a few trees fell onto it so it was then closed. If you park in the Every wood carpark then right beside it is the newer woodland Trust forest thats being planted within the last 10 years. Its been a bit harder to get here because of the new roadworks on the Londonderry to Belfast main road. When the road works are finished then hopefully they will have a slip road off to here
