Description

In care of Cadw, Welsh Government's historic environment service. The displayed opening times are our general pattern. Please check the Cadw website for specific times and days, including closures. Dare we say it, an absolute cracker of a castle with classic proportions and perfect symmetry. The last hurrah of Edward I's massive building programme in north Wales... just a shame he never got round to finishing it! With finances stretched to the limit and the Scots now increasingly effective in their resistance to the English monarch, his vice-like grip on Wales was beginning to slip. Edward or 'Longshanks', on account of his extraordinary height, was forced to focus his attention elsewhere and the rest is, quite literally, history...

Great ruins and good history behind them. Check out the short video explaining a lot in that 10-minute clip. Spent around 1 hour around the castle. You can walk around the ramparts with great views out to sea but be aware there are a few steep steps.

The best Castle never built! We had a lovely day (as the weather allowed). The entrance for an adult is PS10, but they have family deals and other discounts. The visit is well worth it, the staff is super friendly and the kids loved it as they can roam around (apart from the upper floors as they need to be accompanied). There's a kids park outside and a nice town and seaside to walk around. The parking was PS6 for 24h for cars or 12h for campervans.

Great little castle to explore, it's all ruins. but so much fun exploring the narrow corridors and rooms. Access to the top battlements gives. You some good views of surrounding area. The grounds are very well kept. Price reasonable for time to look around. Parking is close by, put we turned up later in the day and it was still a full day t8cket for parking.

We absolutely loved visiting Beaumaris Castle. The staff were super friendly and it was a lovely castle with lots of information boards. We spent around 2 hours here and then went to the play area outside! Well worth the money.

Fantastic castle ruin in a thriving town. Pleasantly surprised as we all were, just how popular this town was. The castle had a medieval themed group of adults teaching the tourists about castle life and sword play etc. Hugely fun!

A lovely castle to wonder around with activities for kids to do too (my 6 year old niece enjoyed). A short film to watch which is informative and interesting. Great views as you walk around the top! You can take a dog if, but only on the ground level.
