Beautiful, perfect for little ones too. Great selection of ice cream from the lovely nearby cafe. Robert Brown and Sky Brown loved it so much they lay claim to two bricks on the site.

There is significant amount of the ruins which made it interesting, easy to get too. Wear sensible footwear as it can be difficult to navigate the stones. Lovely ice cream parlour, sells home made products. We had the homemade scones and butter... Lovely. Well worth a visit, dogs are allowed but on a lead

Very pleasant place to stop on route to Scotland. Lovely tea room/ice cream parlour, toilet, play area. Beautiful castle ruins, easy parking and even some little calves

Beautifully located castle remains. Do look up Lady Anne Clifford, a powerful Tudor peeress who restored the building upon her inheritance.

From fresh milk to ice cream and looking out over the castle. Stopping in we didn't expect to find so many hidden gems in a short space of area. It is a shame it was windy, as it just whipped through the castle.
