Description
The Cambridge American Cemetery contains the remains of 3,811 U.S. dead from World War II, with another 5,127 names recorded on the Walls of the Missing. The 30-acre site lies on a slope with the western and southern sides framed by woodland. From the flagpole platform near the main entrance, the great mall with its reflecting pools stretches eastward. At the far end is the memorial with a chapel, featuring two huge military maps, stained glass windows bearing the state seals and military decorations, and a mosaic ceiling memorial. A 4,000-square-foot center visitor center opened in May 2014.

This cemetery was very beautiful, I felt very emotional reading about how amazingly brave the soldiers were in the war. I felt it was insensitive to take pictures of the crosses themselves so i only took pictures of a few of the lovely decorations. The place is very well looked after as it should be. It's a perfect place to remember the lost of all Americans soldiers R.I.P

This is a beautiful cemetery. The grounds are immaculate, the chapel is stunningly colorful, and the visitor's center/museum is interesting, informative, and well presented.

Incredibly moving and informative memorial to the American soldiers who gave their lives in WW2, many of them in the defence of the Atlantic supply lines to Britain and Europe and in the air raids over Germany towards the end of the war. The visitor centre is a must. Plan to spend about an hour going through the interactive displays at the centre and then take your time to visit the wall of remembrance and the actual graves. Especially suitable for children aged 10+ who can learn much about WW2 and the importance of remembering those who gave their lives for peace and freedom in Europe.

Beautiful cemetery and memorial to keep our fallen hero's memory alive and their souls cherished. Easy bus ride from the train station. The chapel was beautiful. Grounds kept immaculate. The memorial wall was remarkable. I also really enjoyed the visitor center. Powerful. My only slight suggestion is not to power wash during visiting hours. It was very noisy and in front of the beautiful chapel and reflection ponds.

Nothing more to say. It's a memorial graveyard for the brave hearted Americans who lost their lives during the WW2. Peaceful place, not very crowded as it is away from the main city.
