Really interesting to read the history of how it began. Nice little stroll around the statue as it's not a big area at all. Biggest disappointment is that it isn't well advertised with signs to say where it is. We came across it by accident because sat nav diverted us pass the site.

Spotted this on the skyline and stopped on a whim. So glad we did, otherwise we wouldn't have understood the story of the SAS!

Passed this on the way to Doune Castle. Stopped on the way back and glad we did. Superb memorial to David Stirling founder of the SAS. Very fittingly in the middle of nowhere with good views. Worth a stop just for the piece and quiet.

A surprise find while on route to Loch Lomond. Ever wondered who started the SAS? THIS GUY! David Stirling. It's a simple memorial, with names of SAS members on plaques around the outside. He's in a wonderful place with a view across the countryside. Well worth a 10 minute stop on the way to wherever you're going. A small car park that'll take about 8 cars.

One of the most memorable and moving sites to visit. Location gives panoramic views of Scottish scenery personally linked to the founder and wider membership of the SAS and linked organisations. Spend some time here and take it all in. You will leave feeling better for having visited.

Somewhere interesting in the middle of nowhere! Worth a stop but you won't need long!
