About
Edinburgh Zoo is Scotland's largest zoo, home to over 2,500 animals, many of which are rare and endangered. Here you will find the UK's only Queensland koalas and Scotland's only sloths! Spot our three penguin species in Europe's biggest outdoor penguin pool, Penguins Rock. Look up and see our red pandas high in the treetops. Wander through Magic Forest and see the world's smallest monkeys, pygmy marmosets. As well as seeing special species you can listen to exciting talks from our discovery rangers and experience amazing animal adaptions and behaviours in our Animal Antics arena. We are open every day from 10am, except for Christmas Day.

We loved our visit on Saturday. We spent five hours here. So many animals to see. Grounds are spacious with play areas dotted in between. We enjoyed one of the talks. You'll definitely get your steps in walking up to the tiger and dinosaurs. Lovely view from the top. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. We ate at the grasslands cafe, fast service and tasty food. Well worth the admission price and a must when in Edinburgh.
We enjoyed a fantastic day out at Edinburgh Zoo! The animals were all very close! It is on a hill, so it is something to be mindful of if you plan a visit! The staff are knowledgeable. The cafes cater for gluten-free, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the pizzas!
Brilliant zoo. Well thought out, with loads of animals to see. Keepers are really approachable and full of knowledge. You can also see that they really care for the animals there. The cost of entry was good and not too expensive, and I felt it was a fair price. Food was easy to get gold of and lots of places throughout the zoo to get it. Facilities are good and well spaced out. Warning for all this zoo is built on a hill, so there are some steep slopes. Highly recommend going but beware of the slopes and be prepared for them!
The zoo was magnificent, with breathtaking views. Walking around the grounds and up the numerous hills will undoubtedly help you reach your daily step goal. However, we did notice that many of the enclosures were empty. Despite this, it was still a lovely day, with the sun shining and the children laughing and exploring. There were numerous clean and well-maintained restroom facilities. There were also many food options available, although the ice cream from the pop-up stands was a bit pricey. It might be more cost-effective to bring a packed lunch. The parking fee for the entire day was a reasonable PS4, which can be paid at the zoo's reception or payment desk. After completing your visit to the zoo, you can take a bus into Edinburgh city, knowing that you've only spent PS4 on parking for the day.
Amazing place to spend the whole day. The place has lot of spaces to sit and have a picnic. From the hilltop you can see the whole city but didn't had a great view. I got to see the Animal antics show at 3 PM and I believe it happens every day - Ask at the ticket counter. It's a must watch where the zoo keepers will show few animals and birds like vulture, owls, etc that they have trained. Amazing show.
Absolutely amazing my daughter and I had so much fun. It has big uphills, which are quite challenging for sure, but the size of the zoo is pretty manageable. Effort is put to make the enclosures as natural as possible and animals look healthy. We saw the penguins being fed and they were very funny. Sadly, some animals were sleeping or hiding so we could not see them. All in all, it was a lovely day out and the price was fair for the amount of animals being fed and taken care of.
