Far better than expected this place to be. Wonderful relaxing environment, we got to see all the animals and reptiles. They all look happy and well looked after. Feeding the deer was a wonderful experience. Seeing a Harry Potter owl was an unexpected treat! The Hoo-rassic Park was brilliantly done. We really enjoyed this. The giant beach ball sand pit was so much fun for the children. Cafe has a great selection of food and ice cream. Staff are all really lovely, too! The mini land-rover ride was such a fun experience for the children, too! Overall, we will definitely be visiting again!

What an amazing place. It really exceeded my expectations. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable about the animals. You can walk through some of the enclosures and really get up close to the animals. It was so clean and tidy, and the animals all looked happy. Even some of the big zoos across the country aren't up to Hoo Zoo's standards. There's a huge play area for smaller kids too, we spent a good 4 hours wandering around the zoo itself, then grabbed something to eat there (then had another little look at the monkeys again ). I definitely recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely afternoon out here on a day that had started rainy so it was very quiet. It was bigger than expected with quite a large selection of animals and it was heaven for my daughter who loves foxes and big cats (the biggest here being lynx). We saw others taking part in an experience which we'll definitely do in the future. Some of the enclosures are on the small side but the animals all looked to be in good health. Another review described this place as 'rustic' and I think that hits the nail on the head! In our afternoon there we didn't have as much time as we'd have liked but we did just about get round the animals and Dinosaur wood, I'd say you could easily spend the full day here. The playground areas were fab. We didn't do any of the paid activities as they were largely closed due to the weather and we couldn't do the wallaby or lemur walks either so we'll be back when the weather is better to do the things we missed. Wellies recommended if it's been raining as it is very muddy in places. The intercom/loudspeaker system was very crackly on our visit and we couldn't hear properly what was being said - this may have been down to the weather. Staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a great day out and we are looking forward to returning!

Great day out for children who love dinosaurs. It was so nice to see that all the dinosaur props were all working and children can interact with them. To many times places have interactive props put in but then leave them to rot and don't keep on top of the repairs. But you can certainly tell they keep on top of things. Nice to also see a different range of animals in the zoo that you don't see in others. Nice little outdoor park area to keep the children entertained as well. Overall great day out. I do think the tea tea room and toilet facilities will need an update in the near future but other than that can't fault the place.

What an amazing day! We came for the Carnivore Combo package and it did not disappoint We arrived around 11am and parking was easy and the site wasn't too busy. The selection of animals was great and we listened to talks and the keepers were kind and knowledgeable. I especially liked watching the otters play The experience itself was 1hr and we held owls and snakes, fed wolves and met one of the servals. The lady knew so much about the animals and made it really fun The only downside was the food in the cafe but it didn't spoil our day. I would suggest packing a lunch.

Fun family day out enjoyed equally by three generations. Shout out to Sarah who let us follow her around from talk, to feeding time, to talk all afternoon having endless knowledge and patience in answering our questions we lived your company. Emma too, same experience and fun. What a fab day! All of the staff are super friendly and so knowledgeable and genuinely love sharing what they do. How could you not love this place? Great facilities and just a lovely day out. Give it a try. Book in advance for discounted tickets.
