About
Visit Howletts, Kent's original wildlife park, it's a unique adventure like no other! As we're an animal sanctuary and conservation charity, your visit helps us to protect wildlife here in the UK, which then enables us to send animals back to the wild with The Aspinall Foundation. With over 400 animals, including Kent's only giant anteaters, the largest herd of African elephants in the UK, and more gorillas, tigers, leopards and monkeys than any zoo in the County, it's a fun packed, wild day out for a great price! Our winter season begins on Monday 20th November. During this time we are open 10am-4pm on Friday-Sundays and school holiday dates only. We will reopen 7 days a week for our spring season on Friday 29th March 2024.

What an amazing day we had!! The staff here are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food we had was all good and not too badly priced. We will definitely be going back in the not too distant future. Access for a wheelchair was good a few bumpy areas but nothing major. A truly wonderful day enjoyed by us all.
Lovely Wild Life Animal Park, always have a great time and the kids love it! Very easy to walk around. Typically takes us around 4hrs to see everything. There is toilet facilities around the animal park, easy parking plenty of spaces. There is also cafes and food stands around the animal park so it's good if you decide to picnic or just want to grab something easy to eat. Highly recommend.
A really lovely zoo with a considerable number of different animals. There is a massive lean towards conservation and returning the animals to the wild which is a amazing. The animals themselves seemed well housed and happy to be there. I did the snow leopard feeding which was truly magical and I would highly recommend (but it is extra). The only reason I personally would not give it five stars was I prefer to know more about the animals in the enclosures (names, numbers in there etc) and there was quite a few enclosures of the same animals.
We had a very memorable experience at Howletts zoo today! . An experience/encounter with the elephants and Rhinos! ... This is a truly brilliant way to get up close and personal with the larger animals.. we were able to touch the rhinos and feed both elephants and rhinos. Truly a wonderful experience, one I know we won't ever forget ! The keepers were very friendly and knowledgeable , and answered all of our questions .. a brilliant day!
Visited today 18th Aug 24. Very nice zoo, not massive that you feel you have to rush round, nice variety of animals which were all out in there enclosures. Staff where very helpful happy and informative. Very engaging with visitors too. Food was nice, I would have given 5 stars but for me the price of the food was a bit expensive, example a sausage roll was nearly PS5! Even tho they were very scrummy. I know they need to make there money. If I was a parent with 4 kids it that would be PS30 for just sausage rolls no drinks. All in all we had an amazing day would recommend. Take a picnic if you're penny pinching
Took a couple of the grandchildren at the beginning of the school holidays. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and would recommend a visit. Obviously the animal viewing and activity is dependent on weather and time of day but we had no complaints, plenty of animals to see. Some parts of the park need a bit of tlc but there is some building work going on so looks like work in progress. Took a packed lunch which is probably the best option as the coffee and ice cream we did have wasn't cheap. A good day out.
