Great little island to visit, especially if you like hiking. I was in one of the first ferries over and it was just me and one other couple (they didn't buy tickets in advance, and it seemed like a hassle for them, so remember to get them in advance). The hike out to the castle is nice and easy, I tried to stop at the cafe but they didn't open for another hour, so something to think about if you get an early start. I ended up doing the medium loop, which was around 7-8 miles, rather than the out and back to the castle, so there wasn't much of an option to go back when they were open. The path was a little hard to keep track of on the loop once I left the castle, but ultimately it was fine and well worth doing. Lots of time alone and great views. The ferry back was much busier and I had to wait for a couple rounds since they only take 12 people at a time and there were a couple large groups ahead of me.

Lovely little island to visit for the day, 5 minutes on the ferry, easy to book on the CalMac website, from Gallanach to Kerrera return cost around PS4. Visited 19th June.

It's my favourite day out thus far. A must visit if in Oban, short inexpensive l, small ferry across. Beautifully scenic island. Very peaceful, a good walk round. I only saw half of the island this trip, but I'll definitely go back to see the other half. Visited the castle the tea room and the farm shop.

Rented a bike and did the 10 km loop. Very nice trail. Many sheep. The island has a cute farmers market not far away from the ferry with a funny dog.

Fantastic place to go for a day tour from Oban!!! But the ferry terminal is a little far from Oban city center I walked for 30 mins from Oban center to get there.
