A very enjoyable zoo on a large site. The tropical house was the highlight for our group... we loved seeing the natural blend of plants, birds and tortoises (sadly we couldn't spot the sloth). Also really enjoyed watching the giraffe and snow leopard. Like many zoos the site is large quite steep in places so it's worth wearing comfy shoes as you're going to want to cover a lot of ground.

We visited Marwell Zoo about 15-20 times in the past 13 years, and we absolutely love it. We have so many lovely memories. My son just turned 13 and still enjoys visiting. The entry fee is reasonable. the staff is amazing and there is so much to see.

Overall, it was a fairly disappointing visit - it was too expensive for what it was and although there were standout animals, many were difficult to see or appeared missing. As a guide, we weren't rushing and it took us about 2.5 hours. That said you could quite easily spend 4/5 hours, particularly with small children. PROS: Some great animals that you could see fairly closely - giraffes, rhinos and snow leopard were the standout. Lots of picnic benches, tables and nice grassy spots suitable for a picnic throughout the park, including a few inside picnic spots too - there was excellent choice of where to sit! A good number of children's play areas throughout the park which would be fun for smaller children. CONS: Many of the animals were either not there (or hiding well), or difficult to see as they are set a long way back from the path. This led to it feeling you were doing lots of walking and not really seeing much. It's far too expensive for what it is - given similar attractions, it should probably have been half of the PS25 they charge. The zoo generally had quite a "meh" or underwhelming feeling compared to other similar attractions I've done in the past, although it's difficult to quite put your finger on what it is about it.

Couples day out at the zoo, easy to drive to off the M3. Good signage with ample parking with Marshalls. Bit of a hill climb to the top of the zoo, should have taken the road train. Sore most of the animals but not the leopards. Good value, food reasonably priced, decent sausage rolls and ice cream. Plenty of seating, app very handy.

Went for a date trip during the children's summer holidays, bough my tickets online which made it quicker to get through. We were meeting family by the penguins. The weather was good so had a great day saw loads and some animals were hiding but that's normal for a zoo. The giraffes were eating so we had time with them indoors they were beautiful animals. I had two older children but the othe family came with a younger one. Everyone enjoyed the day. We went through a really hot area saw some amazing birds and stepped outside to find an ice cream stall well placed so we all sat and enjoyed a break. I would recommend this place for the family. The only thing we didn't try was the park ride/train thing. So will do that next time.

Been too loads of different zoo's in the past and I have too say that this is one of the best. We got there for 10 on Sunday when they opened and we walked round seeing all the different animals stopped of for lunch and had a train ride and that took us up to 2.15. It was a lovely day, the animals looked well looked after. Would have liked too see more turtles and monkeys but apart from that is was brilliant.
