Great little zoo in Swansea, easy to park make a day of it with shops readily available around it, we never had food in here we visited the little cafe across from it, but the selection available and cakes on display looked very appealing prices good too, toilets on site and an ipad to extend your free parking if you are there longer than expected, !! A nice quick visit, book on line or pay when you arrive,
Love this place great for littler kids with local parking and shopping/other activities. Best part is you can go around and around and around, kids love it! Not too expensive and food around the place plus a bowling alley with arcade games.
We visited plantasia tropical zoo on the 21st August 2024. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Parking is 2 hours in the retail park but you can register your car reg in the zoo and get up to 4 hours free parking. We have a toddler and 7 Yr old and both had the best time. There are fish, tarantulas, snakes, reptiles, meercats, crocs and marmoset monkeys and probably more than I have forgotten. The walk was lovely you felt you were in the middle of a rain forest going along a wodden bridge, looking down the waterfall. The building does not look impressive from the outside but it was absolutely stunning. It says wild animals may be wandering around but we didn't see any. The 'deadly' plant bit didn't have any plants in they were all fake just for people to note. It was wheelchair friendly. Cafe there, you're unable to eat food throughout the zoo but can in the allocated cafe bit. Gift shop at the end. I would definitely recommend going
Maybe because it was a baking hot day but I went in straight away, two people on the till dealing with visitors. Of course it is more of a family place to visit and caters heavily to children but plenty for anyone to see. Inside it was very clear to follow the way and somehow manages a tropical exploring feel. Some animals harder to spot than others, I managed to see one of the leopard cats eating a mouse, which I am told rarely show themselves. The caimans rest beside their pool so are very easy to see, so are turtles, the three marmosets and meercats were easily seen. Also to be seen is a wonderful boa. There are plenty of interesting plants, including hibsicus in flower, when I visited, and typical of glasshouses some tall trees need some more room at the roof! The waterfall in the centre really is a wonderful feature to see, pouring down into the large pool. I give full stars as it really was not expensive to get in, I think PS9 for me and was an enjoyable visit, I went round twice! The shop is nice too and the staff friendly and happy to explain anything about the animals.
Had a lovely hour with the kids. Felt a bit like an adventure through a tropical forest - not a huge place but lots of interesting bits & bobs. The Meerkats were the highlight for my boys!
It is absolutely amazing in here, when you think it is all in one building. A fabulous afternoon treat for any age, highly recommend.
