Great place to visit. It's big and there are a lot of details to see. So make sure you give yourself some time to explore, I was there just over three hours. This place is a texture artists and 3d artists dreams, so much reference to collect. They have a cafe, that's pretty good. The staff are friendly, welcoming and know their history. I will go back.

One of the oldest cathedrals in the area, a lot of restoration has gone into this one. Beautiful stained glass, ceilings, sculptures, and more. The choir was even singing while I was there. Nice gift shop and many tours are offered. The admission is free, but they are happy to take a donation to offset their PS6000 day expense.

Beautiful exterior and interior. Free to go inside. There is a cafe, toilets and a shop inside. Lovely place St Alban's, first time visiting but will definitely visit again. We parked close to the cathedral so it was easy to get around. The high street is few mins away from the car park and has lots of shops, churches and there is a museum but didn't get time to visit. The clock tower had works going on.

The serene beauty of the cathedral provided a moment of respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, allowing me to reflect and find solace in its sacred surroundings. St Albans Cathedral is not just a place of worship, but a sanctuary of peace and inspiration that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

St. Albans is a beautiful cathedral with long history, that is worth a 20-30 minute wander through. There are informative signs throughout showing key highlights of the cathedral, such as the medieval mosaics, doors, and ceilings, as well as a timeline of key events just before the entrance. It is free to visit, though donations are appreciated. Facility-wise, they have a very nice cafe, clean toilets, and a gift shop.

In short: A Welcoming Oasis on the Ver Valley Walking Route As we embarked on the final leg of our walk from the Sopwell Valley, we found ourselves climbing a hill towards the city proper. Tucked away off the main road, the cathedral is an unmistakable landmark, drawing a steady stream of tourists. The entrance was bustling with activity, yet the serene gardens and meticulously maintained graveyard outside offered a peaceful retreat. A magnificent, ancient tree stood proudly near the entrance, adding to the site's historical charm. Upon entering the cathedral, we were warmly greeted by the staff, with the cafe and restaurant conveniently located immediately to the left. While the prices were a bit steep, we were more than happy to indulge, especially since our dog was welcomed inside. This dog-friendly policy was a delightful surprise and a major highlight of our visit. Inside the cathedral, we discovered a treasure trove of educational opportunities. Historical plaques brimming with information provided deep insights into the building's storied past, while stunning displays of architecture and art showcased the medieval period's rich legacy. The vibrant stained glass windows were particularly impressive, adding to the cathedral's artistic allure. The best part? Admission was free, which is always a welcome bonus in my book. My children were captivated by the cathedral's grandeur, and I am truly grateful to the management for preserving and sharing this gem with visitors--both human and canine. In summary, this cathedral is not just a historic marvel but also a welcoming haven for those exploring the Ver Valley. A must-visit spot for families and their furry companions!
