About
St David's Head is a dramatic headland northwest of St David's and Whitesands beach dominated by the peak of Carn Llidi. Super for sea views and circular coastal walks. See the medieval cross which marks the centre of St David's. It's one of many along an historic route of pilgrimage to the cathedral. The cathedral itself was built with stone from our cliffs at Caerbwdy on the Solva Coast. The weathered Treginnis Peninsula, southwest of St David's and opposite Ramsey Island (RSPB), is home to the oldest rocks in Pembrokeshire. Walk the coast path from Porthclais Harbour to discover the RNLI's unusual St Justinian lifeboat station and ancient coastal mine workings.

There are so many stunning locations along this stretch of coast that it's hard to choose -- but this is one of our favourites. A wild and rocky headland, surrounded (on a sunny day) by glittering seas and towering cliffs. Some nice little sandy coves nearby too -- avoid the madness of crowds at the main beach and explore a mile or so and you'll have sandy coves almost to yourself.
One of the many stunning walking areas in the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The views to Ramsey Island and along the coast in both directions are beautiful. Close to St. David's for a spot of lunch after a good walk too. We parked at the car park on the headland and walked to Whitesands. Thoroughly recommended.
This is a beautiful area to walk along the coast paths with amazing views out to sea and back towards Whitesands Bay and Ramsey Island. The headland has a long historic past with prehistoric remains of hut circles to look out for as well as the Coetan Arthur Burial Chamber (found at the top of the hill on the promontory). We set off from the path on the edge of Whitesands Bay carpark (no dogs allowed on the beach here). Although there are some slopes, the path is well within most walkers abilities and the views more than make up for any effort. It's only just over a mile from the parking area to the tip of St David's Head but give yourself plenty of time as you're likely to be stopping frequently to look around.
One of the most beautiful loop walks which is really picturesque and dramatic. Not very difficult but some slopes if you want to climb the high rocks. Walk worth putting some effort. Beach is beautiful with proper toilets (40p), some food and ice cream available. Parking for whole day is PS5 which goes to council.
Penmaen Dewi is the rocky tip of the point to the north of Porth Mawr (the Big Beach, or Whitesands in English). It is seated at the foot of Carn Llidi Bychan, which at 181 metres tall might seem diminutive, but dominates the entire landscape of north Pembrokeshire right up to Strumble Head. The inaccessible rocky bays beneath the northern cliffs provide safe grounds for the local seal population.
Glorious part of the coast path; dramatic scenery on all sides with fantastic views to St Justinians and out over Ramsay Island. All sorts of wildlife to be seen, puffins, shearwaters and other sea birds during the breeding season and seals coming ashore in tiny coves to have their pups in August. Park at Whitesands Bay for PS5 and walk clockwise around Carn Lidi and Carneth Lleither, finishing past the Youth Hostel for the best views.
