I found it charming to walk around the bridge. The view of the castle and the castle for her is really cool. I don't know her exact date but I know it's very old, I believe from before 1200. But regardless of the time I think it's worth taking a walk through it if it's close.

A walk to the Old Bridge of Stirling from city center is about 1 and a half miles. The Old Bridge is a beautiful site. Especially on a clear day it is a pleasure to walk down to that area. At this point the Forth river widens and provides a great vista. The best part is a network of unerpasses meant fir cycling, walking; for Old people and scootering for children. It avoids all car traffic and gives access to some of the best parts of town. The river is beautiful at this spot. The Bridge gives lovely views of the city and of both Wallace Monument and the Stirling castle both on opposite sides of the city atop two hills. It makes such a lovely walk. On your way back take the underpass to the riverside and walk along the river. In summer you can pick some black berries and raspberries. In summer Stirling is in full bloom. The meadows across the river are a sight to watch with Wallace Monument in the background.

Lovely old bridge closed to traffic, only access is by foot or bicycle. If travelling on 2 wheels beware of the cobbles! There is a nice grassy area either side of the river to take in the view and perhaps have a little picnic.

Wonderful spot on River Forth but not the bridge of the famous battle of 1297 where wallace and murray sent Edwards army tae their gory bed. Of that wooden bridge there is no trace. Only complaint no seating facilities from which to enjoy the lovely views.Bridge is around a 20 min walk from train station.

Lovely bridge with loads of history and fascinating to watch. Lovely walk along the river and observation section with all the history to read about. Great place and wheelchair accessible.

We stopped in the carpark at the good bakery nearby and spotted this lovely looking scene. It wasn't until we did a bit of research about the bridge that we realised the significance of the place in history. You can see a couple of remnants of the old wooden bridge in the water nearby, where William Wallace and the Scots defeated the English in a battle there. In the distance is the William Wallace monument.
