Not to be missed. An amazing oak very close to the picnic area at Savernake. Amazing just to think it's over 1000 years old and still so majestic. Was here long before me and will be here long after I have gone.
Magnificent oak to enjoy while wandering through nature in this beautiful forest. Highly recommended.
Part of Savernake forest, which has a site to park up next to Postern Hill camp site. The downer is that the public toilets are seasonable, so not available when we visited in December, obviously no one needs such facilities in winter time, very poor!
The oaks are great best trees I've seen
Walking through amazing woodlands to accidentally find this great oak tree. Sign helped.
Fantastic tree in the Savernake forest. Great day out in the spring, summer and autumn. Nice leisurely strolls or plenty of grassed areas for picnics and barbecues
