Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden

Thirsk Hall is a grade II* listed townhouse which was built in 1723 and extended by York architect John Carr in 1770. The house is unique in its setting, to the east of the house is the market town of Thirsk and to the west there are 20 acres of gardens, walled paddocks and a parkland. These gardens are now home to Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden, which first opened in 2021. The Sculpture Garden will be re-opening on 14 of May 2022 and will remain open all year round so visitors can enjoy the gardens and artwork in the winter months. In addition to the Sculpture Garden a brand new gallery space will also be opening this year. The opening times are Wednesdays to Saturdays each week, 11am - 5pm.

Thirsk Birds Of Prey Centre

A visit to Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre is inspiring and uplifting. We have one of the largest collections of flying birds in the North. The centre is home to around 100 birds from 50 different species from around the world which enables us to fly an amazing variety of birds in each of our daily free flight displays (weather permitting). All set in in our beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We fly a selection of owls, vultures, eagles and kites to name but a few of the different species that call the centre their homeIn-between displays you can take a walk around the aviaries to view our very impressive collection of birds in their rest areas. We also offer experience days starting from PS60pp.

Nice little free museum(donations welcome) with lots of interesting stories and facts. Definitely worth a look around

Lovely small museum covering various aspects of Thirsk's history and daily life. Entry is free but donations are welcomed. The volunteers are friendly and informative.

Small museum. It's free and run by volunteers. It's a lovely little museum. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic place. The 2 ladies in there gave my wife all the gossip on the Yorkshire vet series. Explained where everything was and how to get there after we had looked around the museum. Great place and definitely worth the visit.
