Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden

Thirsk Hall is a grade II* listed townhouse which was built in 1723 and extended by York architect John Carr in 1770. The house is unique in its setting, to the east of the house is the market town of Thirsk and to the west there are 20 acres of gardens, walled paddocks and a parkland. These gardens are now home to Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden, which first opened in 2021. The Sculpture Garden will be re-opening on 14 of May 2022 and will remain open all year round so visitors can enjoy the gardens and artwork in the winter months. In addition to the Sculpture Garden a brand new gallery space will also be opening this year. The opening times are Wednesdays to Saturdays each week, 11am - 5pm.

A visit to Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre is inspiring and uplifting. We have one of the largest collections of flying birds in the North. The centre is home to around 100 birds from 50 different species from around the world which enables us to fly an amazing variety of birds in each of our daily free flight displays (weather permitting). All set in in our beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We fly a selection of owls, vultures, eagles and kites to name but a few of the different species that call the centre their homeIn-between displays you can take a walk around the aviaries to view our very impressive collection of birds in their rest areas. WOW!! What a fantastic field. We have used a few fields around the country, though none as great as this one. Zeus enjoyed playing in the sandpit, running in the long grass in the centre of the field and climbing to the top of the steps, being king of the castle. He just loved the freedom of running free and stretching his legs. Will definitely be using the field again and taking along some fury friends.
