This sis lovely place to visit, the scenery is the best of any zoo I've been too. It's a relatively small zoo, but the animals look well cared for (as much as they can in a zoo). We didn't go to either restaurant, but got very lucky with a snow leopard which came right up to the glass where we were. Staff were friendly and helpful, I would absolutely recommend a visit at least once if you're in north Wales - especially if you have young children!

Beautiful location, good amount of on sight parking. The hills and river makes it a lovely sight to see, plenty of play areas within the ground. Lovely little shop for ice cream and drinks on the entrance. Make sure to have good foot wear as there is hill area to climb up and down because of where it is situated, just have to be mindful of this if you come as a disabled person can be pets you will find difficult to access, there's also a cafe to eat and over looks the zoo, plenty of animals. Overall a lovely place to visit with the kids.

So if anyone reads my reviews is aware I always try to be as honest and constructive as possible to given an honest opion and for people to try and use it to make a good judgment. so this was a very hard decision to score it 3 stars however I feel very warrantied. This is a fantastic zoo and day out and always remains one of my favourites. However its clear its struggling and lacking in a lot of care attention. Quite a few of the exhibits are shut and look like they been left for a long while which has only lead to its decay more. The grass in places is getting really over grown and the grounds are in need of a good general tidy up and clean up. The bins in places where over flowing which was a real put off and gave the final rating. (Picture taken as justification). This leads me to wonder if staff shortages. It was only midweek but id dread to think if was a weekend. They have some great animals which wouldn't normally see at a large main stream zoo which makes this place special and keeps me returning however it really does need that extra push to keep it in business. I donate as well as paying the entrance fee as believe they do need extra help to keep it going however seems to be something be hide the scenes that's leading it to need some much loved attention. Please don't let this place slip anymore in standards.

we recently visited specifically to see the snow leopard cub and had an amazing day. we managed to see most of the animals and some getting fed. we were lucky enough to see the snow leopard cub playing with its mum and when a keeper came over they both went right up to the viewing window, thank you for an unforgettable experience. we really enjoyed the whole zoo

A lovely place to visit, whatever the weather!! A great variety of animals to see, with multiple viewing and vantage points at each enclosure. Staff were friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about all the animals. The lemur walk through was a fantastic experience. Couldn't say which was my favourite animal of the day, but the tigers, otters, red panda and brown bear were amazing to observe. Definitely worth another visit in the future.

The zoo is set in a beautiful location overlooking Colwyn Bay. All the animals looked well looked after and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Price of admission I think is very reasonable. Would I recommend definitely a "yes".
