As an ex-Airborne Soldier, I heard about the Round Canopy Re-enactment Club, and arranged to spend a couple of days with them at Upottery. I was even offered a chance to join in the parachute drop into the Carentan Penninsula, Normandy, France, as a guest of the Chief. In the event, poor weather curtailed this. They were willing to pay my ferry crossing and fare back to Devon. Great bunch.
Most of the venue was wheelchair accessible. I even got to enter Concorde. Only a little bit, but enter it none the less. Some of the toilet doors are very hard to push, especially if you are on your own in a powerchair. Food was fresh, but not much choice for gluten free/allergies. Some lovely aircraft to see and worth spending a couple of hours here.
I visit quite regular as its local , volunteers are friendly and the cafe always seems to be open and welcoming which suits me , museum and shop , good prices for the train too.
Got to love a good free local museum, not a large space but loads of local items and great display on king Athelstan when we went. Loved it!
Lots of green space and the Marina is a perfect spot to relax. Would be great is people would put their rubbish in the bin afterwards.
