A scenic park featuring a large lake, walking trails, and plenty of green space for picnics and relaxation.
The park was massive, with huge open spaces and loads of different paths, which allowed you to explore the area as you pleased. There were sheep, bulls, and cows around the park, grazing peacefully. I'd like to say they were very friendly and just minded their own business. It's really nice to just be able to be around the wildlife whilst enjoying the breathless views. If you follow the two dedicated paths, which offers a 5-mile walk around the park or a shorter pathway, which was just over 2 miles, We elected for the 5-mile walk, but it was more like an 8-mile walk as we de-toured a few times and ultimately lost the trail . But had loads of fun climbing up and down hill. Ended up doing just over 18k of steps, and the legs felt like jelly and sore for 2 days. Really recommend that if you're ever in the area, check the weather as you may need a jacket as it gets quite windy, ensure to bring some water, some snacks and enjoy the space.
The art classes at Norman Park Community Sports Centre Bromley held every Fridays are brilliant, they cater for absolute beginners to improvers. The atmosphere is very friendly and the facilities are excellent, ,they even have a very modern cafe area which has a very tempting breakfast and lunch menu. Highly recommend.
Beautiful park in the Bromley area and especially for park run . The running track is mostly flat and tarmac. When I went there were 800 plus runners . There's a big free car park if you can go early . A great outdoor space even if you are going for just walks and some fresh air
The park is lovely, but really does need more time/money spent on it. There are football pitches which are paid for by the teams using them, which are very uneven, to the point of causing injury to players. The only time you may be lucky enough to have access to a toilet is on weekends, when football teams have access to changing rooms. Other boroughs have similar open spaces and provide free bouncy castles and extra play equipment/facilities for children during summer holidays. There appears to be nothing provided at Norman Park though. There are numerous dog walkers in the park every time I visit, but no provision of a water fountain for their dogs. It is a fantastic space, which so much could be made of it with a little more money & effort.
Huge park popular with joggers, dog walkers and cyclists doing long circuits on the well paved paths. Good for kids on scooters too. The grass is for football much of the time, and it can get crazy busy some evenings. Other times you can have the whole place almost to yourself. Free parking at both ends of the park.
Home of Blackheath and Bromley AC. New club house with indoor track. As you can imagine good facilities. No seating area or covered area for spectators. Take and wear precautions if you'll find yourself out in the elements
