City history given a modern makeover with interactive exhibits in a grand Old Library building.
The Museum of Cardiff is a charming, small, exhibition that offers a quick and insightful glimpse into the city's history. While the space is limited, it's thoughtfully curated and includes a few engaging activities for children, making it a nice stop for families. If you're in Cardiff city centre with a few minutes to spare, it's worth popping in for a brief visit.
Went to Cardiff for a short weekend trip and had such a good time at this museum! Really interesting and such a magical place. Has everything you would ever want to see in a museum and gallery, and the displays in the natural history part are done so so well.
There is nothing much to see. It looks more like an old charity shop with bunch of old service dishes and souvenirs. It is very boring and nothing to explore to be honest. Things are not even that much historical, rather they are just old objects as in someone's grandma's house. What a waste of space.
It was small place but nice my 7 year old enjoyed her time with activity given on reception as well as interactive things inside. nice place to spend hour or so with infants and younger kids
It's a nice castle / museum however unsure why they charge approx 15 pounds per person. The open air museum at St Fagans is free of charge and a lot nicer in my opinion. However if you're in Cardiff do go see this castle as it is very nice - just a tad overpriced.
Wonderful focus on the city's history and culture. Some incredible videos of first-hand accounts of days gone by. Kid-friendly in a dynamic space with lots of vivid history accessibly displayed. You can do as little or as much as you want. It is free, so consider donating. VERY central in Cardiff.
