Rochdale is a market town in Greater Manchester, England, situated in the valley of the River Roch, a tributary of the River Irwell. The town is surrounded by the South Pennines, with the Rossendale Valley to the north and the Manchester conurbation to the south. A beautiful well presented attraction and educational as I was unaware that a T-Rex had the same length arms in comparison to its body as my wife when she's driving.

A fascinating museum of fire service history with an extensive collection of vehicles across the ages. This visit triggered many memories for me since I grew up with the fire brigade very much part of the family as my father was a firefighter. The volunteers were very friendly and helpful and there's a very nice cafe attached for refreshments.

Bumpy road and car park but lovely walks on the red path and more accessible routes available. Quaint Teahouse with covered outdoor space. Feels like an ancient wood. We found some very interesting fungus too!

Really great spot to come for a picnic, walk, with the kids. There's a playground, pump track, greenery, and some history too. You could easily make a day of it and go to the Tea Room before or after, or even other local eateries. I saw a pork place on the map nearby, but we burned up all our time walking through the paths and on the playground.

We had a great time trekking the hills with the Grandchildren lot's of fun. Heading on the pathway to the right hand side till you reach a gate way in the wall you have a choice we went right into the trees following the pathway is a bit muddy and I would suggest correct footwear is necessary as the terrain changes often. If you persevere and walk up to the top its a lovely panoramic view. The weather is changeable and warm waterproof clothing could be required. This a great place to get the heart pumping and bring your dog. Although there a disabled parking spots this is not a wheelchair friendly place. I did not see picnic areas or toilets.
