Newbold is a small village in the English county of Derbyshire, situated approximately 4 miles northwest of Chesterfield. The village is surrounded by rolling countryside and is close to the Peak District National Park. Newbold is known for its historic church, St. John the Baptist, which dates back to the 13th century and features a striking tower and stained-glass windows. The village also boasts a number of old cottages, farmhouses, and country estates, giving it a charming and rustic atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy scenic walks and hikes in the surrounding countryside, explore the village's historic buildings, and experience rural English life.
Newbold metrolink tram station sits on the line, that heads towards Manchester East didsbury in one direction, and towards Rochdale in the other direction. This station only has one platform to serve both directions. The entrance and exit to the station is via a fairly large car park mainly due to to the fact that there is a supermarket nearby. I wasn't aware of any disabled parking spots although there may have been some. Even so there is still adequate parking for everyone. This tram stop does have a bicycle rack, and it also has a selection of bicycle lockers. As with most (if not all) metrolink stops, there is a reasonable abundance of closed-circuit television cameras here. Tickets for the trams must either be bought at the ticketing machines, or you must use the contactless system instead. There is adequate seating here, and all of this seating is covered, to protect you from the weather elements.
It's a tram stop near Morrisons. This time in the morning it's cold and bleak.
Wasn't there long waiting for the tram
The area has improved alot from what it use to be years ago.
