This 14-acre park in Milnrow, West Yorkshire, features beautiful gardens, walking trails, and a tranquil atmosphere. A memorial to the local men who lost their lives in World War I, the park's centrepiece is a stunning war memorial surrounded by well-manicured lawns and vibrant flowerbeds. Visitors can stroll along the winding paths, take in the serene surroundings, and pay their respects at the memorial. The park also offers picnic areas, a children's playground, and a café serving refreshments, making it a lovely spot for a family day out or a peaceful afternoon in nature.
Staying at the Premier Inn, gazing out of the window we could see the park adorned with kids playing. We ventured over the road first stumbling upon a swing gate that was welded shut. We threw the 6 year old over and then slowly hoisted the wife over. This was the toddler park and may well be the reason for the locked gate. Loads of outdoor activities for younger children and it was being used by several granny's. Clean, spacious and benchs to plonk your bottom. Next to it through a gate was the big kids part Equally adventurous and kept us all busy. Bike / skate park was used whilst we visited and even during the evening the local scally wags were whizzing up and down. We walked to the top of the hill via the grass to climb a stone structure with a face. Beautiful vista and photo spot. Walking down the track to a well kept war memorial gardens where we met dottie the 11 week old dalmatian and even managed to squeeze an ice cream in each.
