Does exactly what it says on the tin. 199 of your finest steps both up and down. Would recommend not skipping leg day before your visit. If you have asthma, COPD , or any lower back, knee, or hip issues, I would recommend giving it a miss and jumping on the tour bus to get to the Abbey.
It was a climb but once get up there it is stunning. It's good for the exercise you must have been seeing this place. Beautiful and nice people.
It's so beautiful!! Even though it says 199 steps, the steps are quite short and it's not as hard as I thought. It's a shame that the weather is cloudy and windy, with no sun even in summer. It would be lovely on a sunny day.
I've been going to whitby for 45 years , an absolutely beautiful place. Everything about it is amazing. It is highly recommended for a visit , you will go again and again
