Set amongst 100 acres of Suffolk countryside, Africa Alive Zoological Reserve is home to over 80 species of animals from across Africa. Why not catch a display, book an experience with some of our incredible animals or just enjoy a leisurely day at the park!? Providing a fun and educational day out for the whole family, the walking safari is owned by the Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA) - a conservation charity developed to support national and global biodiversity.
Roaring Good Time at Africa Alive We recently had an absolutely fantastic family day out at Africa Alive zoo. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning African landscapes and the incredible wildlife on display. The zoo's amenities were top-notch, making our day even more enjoyable. The kids loved the interactive exhibits and play areas, which kept them entertained for hours. The picnic area was a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal surrounded by nature. Of course, the highlight of our visit was seeing the majestic lions, cheetahs, and rhinos. It was truly awe-inspiring to witness these incredible animals up close. The zookeepers were knowledgeable and passionate, providing fascinating insights into the lives of these creatures. If you're looking for a memorable family day out, I highly recommend visiting Africa Alive. It's a perfect place to learn about African wildlife, have fun, and create lasting memories.
Lovely day out. Not a massive site, but enough to comfortable fill a few hours. Some big enclosures and lots of wild animals to see. 9yo daughter loved it. The evening slot tickets were fantastic value and we practically had the park to ourselves!
Lovely place to go with children or without, it's bigger then you might think and quite a walk around! But lovely to see the variety of different animals. Cafe there next to a park near the entrance but limited seating and quite busy!
Good value for money, especially if you book ahead online. It's set in the countryside and it's lovely to walk around the animal enclosures, all of which seem to be quite spacious. There is a children's playground, a coffee shop, and a cafe. My favourite enclosure was the lemur walkthrough. We loved it, would recommend a visit if you're staying in the area.
Easy to find and park. Talks were super informative and easy to find so you could get to more than one which was great. Lots for the kids to see and so with the playback being in the centre a genius idea because anytime they got a bit restless they could go on there to blow off a bit of steam before you moved back to the animals.
Booked online at the last minute.. what shall we do today? Extremely hot day! So, not all the exhibits were feeling inclined to show themselves or were sleeping in the shade. But we had a pleasant enough 2 hours walking and stalking our prey. We did get time to get to the giraffe house and hear the keepers lecture. Not all the refreshments kiosks were open. Note that the terrain is fairly flat. There are slopes ramps to the exhibits, and you can hire a wheelchair or electric scooter (get there early for electric or try to prebook. I'm not sure if you can!)
