The Aircraft Viewing Area is a popular spot at Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom, offering a thrilling experience for aviation enthusiasts. Located near Terminal 2, this area provides an unobstructed view of the airport's apron and runway, allowing visitors to observe aircraft takeoffs, landings, and ground operations up close. The viewing area is equipped with information boards displaying flight information, aircraft identification charts, and interesting facts about the airport and its history. On a clear day, visitors can see the surrounding countryside and even the Pennines in the distance. The area is open 24/7, making it an ideal spot for plane spotters and families alike.
Monthly BCA meet. Lots of different cars to see. The place is well maintained, and the burger bar serves the most delicious food. These meets often get quite busy and as such sometimes there is a wait for food, but it's worth it. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Also been here to view the arrows and what an experience that is too. The car park is tidy on the whole. Would be good to see this revamped
Stopped by a couple of times on vacation. Didn't really have timings, but got lucky and saw some of the red arrows training. Kids loved it, and there was a burger van with good prices too. A great way to spend an hour or so.
Great place to park up & watch aircraft visiting RAF Waddington. Snack van there with decent prices & toilet for customer use only.
Great place to see aircraft arriving and departing from RAF waddington. Also a good place for fans of the British display team the red arrows. Since they moved from RAF scampton a few years ago.
I often go to watch the Red Arrows, and the viewing area is usually quite busy. There's a small burger van that sells various refreshments, and the ladies serving are lovely and friendly. A bit more of a vegetarian variety would be great, but overall, just what you need whilst sitting around waiting. It's a real shame that the viewing area is on the other side of the main A15 and when the lights turn red to let the planes land all the traffic backs up and usually big lorries obscure the view and can't view the planes. This also happens on take-off. I do enjoy the viewing area, just not its location around RAF waddington
Not been for a while, burger van only cash, something about not sitting on benches out of respect !!!.. Don't know why, surely the people who buy these benches want people to sit there, so went into the village, found a cafe near the crossroads who took cards, had the best sandwich i've had for years, and the owner was terrific. Will be popping in again soon.
