Circa 12th-c. castle, renovated in the 18th c. & now part of the University of Stirling campus.
Not what I was expecting of a "castle", but still pretty cool. It was undergoing renovation when I was visiting, which was too bad; but I'm happy that it was being taken care of. The castle, grounds of Stirling University, and the church ruins & cemeteries behind the university, as a whole, are worth seeing.
Part of the University of Stirling it is not open to the public but the grounds are easily accessible from the road. Well maintained and nice structure. The setting is peaceful and pristine.
Set in the campus of Stirling University it is a very imposing castle. The surrounding grounds are superb. Many walkers walk their dogs there. They come from neighbouring Bridge of Alan
A fantastic setting within the University of Stirling and at the foot of the William Wallace Monument. But more than a castle it looks like a big house.
Wonderful building. Born there in 1968 and first time I've actually ever been back in the building
Couldn't get in the castle but you can see it only from outside.
