This 12-acre park in Wickford, Essex, features a mix of formal gardens, woodland, and open grassland. A central lake with a fountain is surrounded by walking paths, benches, and picnic areas. The park also includes a children's play area, a skate park, and sports facilities such as tennis courts and a bowling green. A variety of plant species and mature trees are scattered throughout the park, making it a popular spot for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape.
Beautiful for exercising. Beautiful views.excellent parks for children of all ages.good basketball court.. Lots of history connected to this memorial Park. Quiet traditional and tranquil atmosphere. (tm).
The play park is well worth a visit. The trees are such a strong part of the park: they overlook Weedon Hill, which is awesome in itself. Downsides: couple of drinks hanging out there after dark and the grass gets waterlogged for weeks after a heavy rainfall and when the grass is long in the summer the midges come out and bite you to death.
A cosy area. Lots of sitting places. Two playgrounds, a basketball and football court. A cricket ground for the cricket lovers. If you want to watch volleyball, you can always come to the park after 5pm and you will find people playing it competitively. But if you just want sit, relax and enjoy the view, there are enough seats in the uphill area which is high enough for you to see the entire field. It is very therapeutic.
This park is well kept with pathways around the perimeter. Plenty of space for dogs to play and several bins.
