A former industrial site turned into a unique attraction, Allen Brickworks features a sprawling complex of abandoned brick kilns, chimneys, and buildings. The crumbling structures, overgrown with vegetation, evoke a sense of post-industrial decay, while the surrounding landscape has been reclaimed by nature. Visitors can explore the eerie, abandoned spaces, taking in the remnants of a bygone era.
A very dangerous site riddled with asbestos. The asbestos is even blowing about the place. Lots of broken glass, sharp rust, weak floorboards and hidden drops. Do not let your children play here. On the positive note the graffiti is interesting, it's got a post apocalyptic vibe and it's popular with FPV drone pilots judging by the number of ruined prop blades littered about.
Superb place to explore. So much to see. Perfect for a good few hours of walking. Park at the Pub or on station road... don't follow sat nav to the brickworks!!!
Absolutely awesome photography spot, video of the inside here https://youtu.be/niDN8El8h5U
Fabulous place to explore and photograph.
Well out of the way, not a museum as listed, cool place to explore with some amazing graffiti artwork
I definitely took the long route in but I eventually found it now I know the easiest route in from the travellers pub then follow the road down from there it's not hard to find but I walked round the place twice before a person kindly give me directions then wow it's a new world or a place stuck in time which ever way you want to put it but yes I was in my own element felt like a kid again discovering old mills then two vapours appeared from no where that kinda killed the moment at least walk out with a few tins of lager or smoking some drugs just vaping just tells you about society nowadays but yes this was a nice hidden gem to find a bit wet but the buildings have stood the test of time well most structures apart from the roofs left to collapse but I'd give it a little look or nosey then call into the pub after a drink is needed .
