This 12-acre nature reserve is home to over 20 species of butterflies, including the rare Marsh Fritillary and the Small White Wave. The reserve features a tropical garden with a large walk-through butterfly house, where visitors can walk among free-flying butterflies and observe their life cycle. The surrounding gardens and meadows are planted with a variety of flowers that attract native butterflies and other wildlife. Visitors can also explore the reserve's woodland walks, ponds, and streams, and spot other wildlife such as birds, dragonflies, and frogs.
Lovely walk but be aware of the ticks. So far we found a dozen. Also same parts of the way are closed but an alternative is in place.
If you like to explore and sight see whilst enjoying all kinds of wildlife including the butterflies in a location somewhat off the beaten track then it really doesn't get much better than this!! Stunning waterfalls (filming scene in Rob Roy), outstanding scenery and wildlife in abundance, stunning! However, be prepared to drive some twelve miles or so along single track roads, worth it though.
Lovely little nature reserve for butterflies and more. The small herd of Highland cows managing the vegetation were nice too.
Beautiful views, steepish but short climb. Can be very boggy in parts. Single track road.
So quiet and remote
Great wildlife
Good for kids
Dogs allowed
