The Aln Valley Railway is a 2.5-mile-long heritage railway in Northumberland, England, that runs from Alnmouth to Alnwick, passing through the picturesque Aln Valley. The railway features a collection of vintage steam and diesel locomotives, offering passengers a nostalgic ride through the countryside.
Lovely wee trip up and down a section of line, I hope they get it connected with Almouth station. Definitely advise for train lovers/spotters. And a good little adventure for the family. Good facilities at the yard also.
Took part in Aln valley railways first afternoon tea train ride. It was a great nostalgic experience with a delicious afternoon tea. Lovely comfy seats with great scenery. Staff were excellent keeping us supplied with plenty of drinks. Well done ! The Aln Valley Railway is run by volunteers who do a sterling job and self funded.
What a lovely little steam train. We need places like this so when you visit sponsor a sleeper ,spend money in the wee shop and talk to the guys that volunteer there, they're so full of knowledge and stories and you'll feel their love for the trains and their past
Brilliant day out with family, well worth visiting for both adults & kids! Both miniature and full scale railway were enjoyed by all!
Second time I have been here. It's much better than the first time. Can't wait to till it goes to Alnmouth. Great for all the family even big kids like me. Carers go free
We went here after finding out they were hosting a classic/ vintage cars event over the weekend. We really enjoyed the vintage cars, and to add to that, we decided to take a ride on the steam train which was a great out-and-back journey through the countryside. Unlike Network Rail, the train provided a very comfortable experience and ran to schedule! The site was free entry and cost PS9PP for a ride on the train. The site is run by volunteers who were very friendly and helpful! Highly recommended!
