The Amesbury History Centre is the place to visit to find out all you need to know about the oldest continually inhabited settlement in Britain; as recognised by the Guinness Book of Records.
We visited today 9/08/24 for a coffee, also were tempted by the delicious cakes. A lovely warm welcome from the two members of staff we will certainly be going back. The museum is also worth having a look around.
We went to see what it was all about ,looked at the shop area and went straight through to the start of the museum which was on the ground and first floor. Very interesting to know about all the people who lived in Amesbury. I was sad there was not a lot about Stonehenge but I know there is a visitors center at Stonehenge.
We visited today, had a coffee and delicious cake in the cafe and then wandered around the FREE exhibition. Some of it is in its early stages but it was still fab! Some amazing local information and various artefacts. Brilliant we will go again!
Excellent coffee and fruit scone. Also friendly staff at the Centre. Nice to hear the church bells ringing as well.
Visited today for the first time. A wonderful space. Masses of local history, a craft gift shop and a cafe. It is all free! If you live locally it's just a great place to go. It looks like it will grow and get better.
Lovely cafe and small free museum with interesting exhibition about Mesolithic age. Is very new and still developing the exhibits and run by very friendly volunteers. Free car park for visitors.
