This museum showcases a diverse collection of sculptures created by Andrew Logan, a British artist known for his eclectic and often surreal works. The museum is housed in a 19th-century building and features a range of Logan's sculptures, from figurative pieces to abstract works, all of which are infused with his signature blend of humor, wit, and fantasy. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and events, offering visitors a unique and immersive artistic experience.
On holiday in the area doing a treasure hunt game, Andrew Logan museum was on our hit list to visit... It didn't disappoint! Amazing sculptures hosted by wonderful lady
Unique experience! Andrew's art is a sensory delight, colourful and exciting. There are lots of different aspects of his career to explore including the Alternative Miss World competition which he hosted, his raft of celebrity friends from the 60s and 70s, his jewellery and fashion collaborations, his mythology and travel inspirations, his family portraits and on and on! My two kids (10 and 8) absolutely loved it and the staff were so friendly offering them activities, crafting and showing them round. We even had the chance to try on one of the Alternative Miss World crowns! There's also a little cafe and free parking.
An interesting collection of sculptures. Extremely colourful, bright and flamboyant. I was unaware of Andrew Logan or his work before visiting, and probably would have got little from the exhibition save for the curator walking us round and talking us through individual sculptures. A good couple of hours for a cost of PS5 each. There is limited parking onsite, but there is also on-street parking. Tea/coffee and toilets are also available.
This museum is brilliant! The staff are all incredibly passionate and knowledgable and will take you on a fascinating tour of all the pieces (I'm so sorry I've forgotten the name of the lovely American/Dundonian lady who showed me around). I was lucky enough to even get to meet Andrew in person. This is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the sculptures as well as a really special insight into the life and mind of an artist. Don't miss it!!
Wonderful place to visit. Julie showed us around and was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the artwork. Some wonderful pieces to see and would definitely recommend.
Amazing! Really fascinating insight into the life and creations of the extraordinary artist. Many pieces on display and their stories brought to life by an interesting and informative commentary by a very nice lady whose name I did not catch - sorry! Now to look forward to the next projects, especially the Alternative Miss World. (See also on YouTube.)
