Dobbies soft play is open as normal - please be advised that the rest of Anker Wood is closed
As other reviews have mentioned, the place could do with some maintenance and some love in some areas. Despite this, the staff were super friendly and it's free to walk around. There is a small charge for the soft play but it was the perfect kind of soft play for younger kids 0-3. Lovely afternoon out, and very low cost for a nice walk and a soft play for the little one!
Cafe was ok but limited choice. We came for the mazes which are seriously dilapidated, presumably the reason why entry is now free. The children enjoyed anyway, but everywhere is in quite a poor state of repair. Lovely surroundings though next to the river.
Small indoor cafe and small soft play with a largely closed outdoor play area that is in dire need of some maintenance. (As of April 2023) The maze(s) were open but needed tidying. The small pond walk was muddy in places. The tree top area was closed. The wood walk was closed. The animal farm park bit was closed some time ago. Shame really because you can tell it was quite a nice local cheap quick event a couple of years ago.
Very beautiful place to spend some time with the family. Unfortunately winter times plants are not so attractive and mazes look a bit poor (the reason you get the discounted ticket that time of the year), but once they are green it all looks amazing. Lot of walking around so you can spend there a few hours not being bored.
Great softplay. Decent food and drink menu. Lovely grounds. Wish they were looked after better. But time well spent
Dobbies are one of the best places to visit. There is everything you need there. Plants, trees, sheds, etc. It's a great cafe, plus many other things.
