The Annan Museum is a treasure trove of local history, showcasing the rich heritage of Annan and the surrounding area. The museum's collection includes exhibits on the town's industrial past, with a focus on the textile and shoe-making industries that once thrived there. Visitors can explore displays on the region's natural history, including its geology, flora, and fauna. The museum also features a recreated Victorian street scene, complete with a general store, a printer's workshop, and a chemist's shop. Additionally, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions and events throughout the year, making it a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of Annan.
Just towards town from the Central 'otel you will find Annan Museum. It's on 2 floors. Staff were really helpful. Downstairs a changing display. I bought a book so I can continue to read about Auld Annan. Donations welcome but free to attend.
Small museum packed with local history. Cute little spot the lego for the kids too and child friendly interactive activities too. We were there about 50 minutes but I reckon you could do about 1hr and a half if you had the chance to look at everything. Free admission and free parking nearby. Only small minus is no toilets but there are public toilets 2 mins away
