Guided tours with tasting sessions and water source walks, of 19th-century malt whisky distillery.
Loved it, loved it, loved it. Came for the distillery tour, and snagged a quick lunch after too from the Ardstream in the courtyard which was delicious (haddock soup and a sandwich). The lass (sorry forgot your name hen!) who ran our tour was keen as, so informative and loved her job too - you could tell! Happily spent money in the shop after buying a few souvenirs to take home - even got my flask filled up too which was the loveliest gesture. This was the icing on the cake for our holiday abroad from Melbourne - thank you all for making this man's year
I only visited the shop and bar area for tasting. So my review does not include any tours or features of the distillery. The shop is typical and there you will find all of the merchandise you would expect (clothing, whisky glasses, bottles, etc.). This is also the tasting area where you can buy a cocktail or a flight of whiskies to taste. Prices range from PS3 and up. You can also take your drink(s) outside to the patio. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
This was one of my favorite distillery tours. The tour guide was funny and very informative. The tour was interesting and they gave you a glass to wear around your neck so you could do tastings in between the tour guide's explanations. The whiskies were very tasty and different. The place was very artsy, we found out that Louis Vuitton owns it. It was filled with quirky art and outdoor furniture. Even the bathroom was artsy and quirky! Loved it! I would definitely recommend this distillery.
Really cool distillery tour (thanks, Ella!), amazing whisky, nice people and little gift shop with plenty of options. What else is there to say? Ardbeg was my second favorite Islay brand and it moved to the top spot after the visit!
We stopped here on a Rabbies tour and had a great time around the distillery. Our tour guide was very nice and informative about the working distillery. We had 3 or 4 drams of excellent whiskey and the views around the distillery were fantastic as well.
Great tour at a wonderful distillery. Staff were all great and very passionate about Ardbeg and what it stands for. I love the fun this brand has which spreads through the whole fabric of the place.
