A fascinating micromuseum focussing on the heritage on Ashdon village, in north Essex, through its people and objects. We are open Sunday afternoons 2-5pm between Easter and Christmas (whatever Google says!). Please note we can only take cash payments. The Ashdon Village Museum is a charity and relies on volunteers and visitors for support.
A wonderful, friendly museum detailing the local history. Loads of artefacts and information to see. Well worth a visit and don't forget to make time to visit the cafe too. Remember to take cash as they can't take cards. There's also a small book stall too.
The museum has had a very sympathetic refurb & managed to retain the character. The tearoom is a fantastic example of how to do tea & cake - just lovely after a little local walk.
Best village museum we ever visited. Great tea and cake.
As always, a very interesting visit indeed. Well worth the journey - and as for the lovely tea and homemade cakes: just wonderful!
